Energy conservation for world

Energy conservation as a pillar of national energy management has not received adequate attention in Indonesia. Energy management in the country has been a higher priority on how to provide energy or expand access to energy to the community. This is realized by increasing the exploitation of fossil fuels or electricity rural development. Energy consumption on the other hand are still allowed to increase rapidly, more rapidly than economic growth. This is shown for example by the demand for electric power.
Energy conservation will bring benefits not only to the people that the energy consumption per capita has been very high, but also by the state of energy consumption per capita is low, such as Indonesia. By doing conservation it is as if we discover a new energy source. If Indonesia can save BBMnya consumption about 10 percent of it, then it means "find" the new oil field can produce about 150,000 barrels per day, which in fact require significant costs for exploration and production. Costs can be saved by doing very large conservation.
Energy conservation benefit not only to reduce the consumption and costs of energy consumption, but also provide a better impact on the environment. As we know, the main source of global warming that the planet Earth is feared now is the burning of fossil fuels, or human activities related to energy use. Fossil fuel combustion activities, such as shown by transport activity, produces a variety of pollutants such as Cox, NOx and SOx in addition to dust particles that pollute the air.
One of the factors that make the conservation of energy is not growing in Indonesia is a view in the community that Indonesia is a country endowed with abundant energy resource wealth, and because it uses energy saving is not regarded as a necessity. Understanding of energy conservation as a practical measure has not developed in the community because there are shortages or campaigns dissemination of information about energy conservation techniques. Legislation on energy conservation was not yet developed. Similarly, the establishment of specialized agencies in the government / private sector dealing with energy conservation also not been established.Losses due to not implementing energy conservation programs have actually been felt in the homeland. How many losses for not doing it right energy conservation is a number we have not count. Disease born of national fuel consumption patterns of unhealthy ("fuel subsidy", smuggling, adulteration, and political costs it creates) a bit much to overcome if we are doing with strict energy conservation, especially in the transport sector. Losses (losses) in the business of national power can be reduced if awareness of the efficiency and energy conservation has grown in the community and the power company itself. Many industries can reduce their production costs if the concern about how to use energy-saving industries practiced in the day-to-day activities.
With the premise that energy conservation is a necessity for Indonesia's national energy management, this paper shows the experience of Japan and Thailand in developing their national conservation programs, as well as trying to give you an idea of what needs to be done in terms of energy conservation Indonesia. Japan selected as the country is the world's best examples of energy conservation programs. In addition to Japan, Thailand is taken as an example of a developing country in ASEAN has started to seriously implement energy conservation programs.
